Read the viewer’s mind, enter their imagination and draw them into a poetic universe. Here are some of the challenges that mentalist Anthony Istar is preparing to take on this Friday at the INSA rotunda. With a degree in Bioinformatics from the Villeurbanne school, the 26-year-old scientific magician will be returning to his old school, but this time in the spotlight. With his first show, “Historia”, the mentalist, a doctoral student in mathematics at Grenoble’s Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), aims to put “magic, and in particular mentalism, at the service of a story”.

Inspired by English mentalism Derren Brown, Anthony Istar and his campaign Pauline Alessandra (author of novels) wrote “Historia” in April 2013.

After a first performance in Lyon last November, the city and stage couple hope to “move people with dreams and convey real emotion without heaviness”.
